Pocket gophers have an immense, yet secretive, impact on the landscape and the plant and animal life surrounding them. Everybody knows that gophers dig tunnels under the soil, but this does not change the landscape very much. Few people know, however, that pocket gophers might be responsible for many of the rolling hills in the Midwestern United States. Some scientists hypothesize that small mounds of dirt riddled throughout the prairies of the United States are from gophers. After hundreds of years of tunneling, little piles of dirt combined together to form little hills.
While pocket gophers’ impact on topography is important, more important is their impact on plant and animal life. They aid plants by tilling the soil. A gopher acts as a personal farmer to the plants in its range. Creating and refilling tunnels, they aerate the soil. They do eat some of the plants that they are supposedly helping. However, the region as a whole is better off with the gophers: they make room for new plants to grow by clearing out others. They do this not just with small plants like flowers but with larger plants, such as trees, too. Scientists credit gophers with helping to bring back plant life so quickly in the area around Mt. St. Helens.
Effecting the soil and plants effects animals too. Pocket gophers create a certain surrounding that suits some animals better than others. Grasshoppers, for example, use the soil that gophers create by digging their tunnels. Grasshoppers lay their eggs in this fertile, arid soil. According to studies, this soil works better than all of the other soils tested: the gopher mounds give rise to more grasshoppers

Definition for Out-of-body experience:  (dictionary.com)
a)  a feeling of separation from one's own body, as observing it from a distance
b) the dissociative experience of observing yourself from an external perspective as though your mind or soul had left and was observing your body

Definition for Astral Travel:
a) to leave the physical form via the astral body and travel into other dimensions - NOT RECOMMENDED because the physical body can sense the negative effects of what happens to the astral form
b) A state in which the energy of living beings leaves the physical  body(www.iespana.es/boabom/dictionary.htm)
c) Also known as Out-of-Body experience, Astral Travel occurs when one's consciousness leaves the body and travels through space, time and other spiritual realms and levels. Such travel may be done in human or animal form. The sometimes tenuous connection between the spirit and the body during this experience is often referred to as the Silver Cord. (wolfmoongrove.com/Wiccan%20info%20pages/glossary.htm)
You either have the gift or you don't. If you do,
you will be able to astral travel with practice. Sometimes beginning journeys happen while during sleep. You wake feeling tired or 'not all there', that is because you were traveling and indeed were not in your sleeping physical form. Many times dreams that you 'think' were dreams were really journeys you took.

Cloud Scrying   It's Written In The Sky
Cloud Reading

Most people, even if only as children, have spent time lying on the grass on a summer's day looking up into the sky and imagining they could see a dragon, a boat, or a great bird in the clouds. Cloud reading is an extension of this simple, relaxing joy and can be a unique and enjoyable path to greater understanding. The shapes and details you find important as you meditatively gaze into a bank of clouds will often be symbolic of your innermost thoughts and feelings. Subconsciously, your mind will seek out certain imagery within the cloud formations that may reveal veiled thoughts or answers to questions long pondered.

The images we perceive are symbols and symbols tend to have meaning, even if we are unaware of that meaning. On a day with thick clouds, find a quiet, open place to lie back and relax. Let the clouds drift across your vision. Don't focus on any one cloud; instead, let the images come as they may. Perhaps you see a powerful, galloping horse flying in the wind. It could be a symbol of strength and speed, or a race yet to be finished. A bird can have many meanings, but it most often indicates a desire for achievement. Remember to be flexible and to use your intuition and imagination when interpreting the images you see. Some practitioners of cloud reading believe that the color or colors represented in the image also have meaning. Light, or white, clouds are seen as a positive omen, while darker clouds have more portentous connotations. Pink might be a new beginning, while red could reveal powerful, overwhelming changes.

Although throughout history images of religious or political significance have been seen in the clouds, there is no need to expect great revelations. The clouds, and what you see in them, are like celestial art, and the simple act of watching those changing portraits and landscapes in the sky can be in itself a soul stirring experience.

Thoth
The God Thoth is usually shown with the head of an ibis (a crane-like bird), or sometimes as a baboon with a dog's head. His other names are Tehuti, Sheps, or Dhouti.   Thoth is the 'scribe of the Gods' and He rules over language and writing, mathematics, engineering, literature, astronomy and other similar disciplines. He is closely related to his wife Seshat. It was She who invented writing, but Thoth was the one who brought the knowledge to mankind.

Thoth is also involved in the judging of souls in the underworld. He manned the scale where a soul was measured against the feather of Ma'at. As the divine scribe, he also recorded the judgment.

Thoth is said to be the original composer of the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

Chakra Energy Centers

Simply put, chakras are energy centers in our bodies.
Most people cannot see them, much like we cannot see
the air we breathe, but we all have them. Imaging them
as spinning vortexes of energy radiating from your
body out into the world. Each major section of your
body holds channels for your energy to flow and at the
intersections, the channels meet, and these are your
chakras; when these are flowing and open you will reap
the benefits of good physical and mental health, when
they are closed or unbalanced we may be open to
illness and upset emotions.

The human body has 7 major chakras flowing from your
spine to the top of your head. Each chakra responds to
a particular color, scent, gemstone, sound and
emotion.

Indian scholars began long ago to explain these energy
centers through their profound practice of body
awareness. Many other cultures have pursued similar
possibilities in examining human energy channels and
centers - they are a widespread concept around the
world. In Yoga and a variety of healing arts,
practitioners use the chakras for an array of
beneficial purposes.

The chakra system is highly dynamic and is connected
with your thought process, breath, meditation, and
movement. Understanding one's own energy points can be
hugely beneficial in healing, practicing mediation,
yoga, and generally bringing about a more complete
sense of self-awareness. The power is within each of
us to turn up the voltage and radiate our chakra
energy.
