IN FLORE VERITAS.

In flower, truth.

Look at a flower. It is not a creature of lines; it is not a creature
of circles. It is a creature that's intricate, delicate, radiant.

There is nothing simple about it. There is nothing linear about it. It
does not exist to be used; it does not exist to use. It exists as a
creature of these two principles:

Consummation and continuity.

Consummation, as the blossoming and unfoldment of its species - the
masterpiece that is its fruition, and from which the species derives
its name.

And continuity, as part of affinity with life - affinity with nature as
a whole.

These two forces, working together, create savor of life - and life
itself.

Either is meaningless in and of itself. Continuity without consummation
leads to perpetuation of misery. Consummation without continuity dies
off. But put them together - and you get life going on for ages and
ages, while producing something worth having existed - worth indeed for
the life to have existed in the first place.

The existence of which justifies the entire enterprise. Creates
something that is of worth in itself - and that meaning and joy to the
entire process.

And that needs the knowledge of its worth (as consummation) and the
continuity of which it is a part to create happiness long-term.

I thought I had conquered such things as possessiveness. I thought I
had been able to come in control of passions so as to be able to know
them, be their master, and not to suppress them or sublimate them or
attack them in others as do so many others (with the result of leaving
the world dry and barren and oppressive), but rather to wield them
masterfully, turn them to poetry, turn them to wisdom, turn them to
full experience of being alive - and in so doing to inspire others to
being fully and absolutely alive.

Alive in passion. Alive to passion. And alive as being informed by the
emotional truth of the romantic soul.

Not to be lost to passion, but to live passionately. With passion
providing the truth of existence - the mind providing the means to make
it manifest.

Promise of Blue Horses-
How is every one?Promise of Blue HorsesA blue horse turns into a streak of lightning, then the sun --relating the difference between sadnessand the need to praisethat which makes us joyful, I can't calculatehow the earth tips hungrilytoward the sun - then soaks up rain -- or the densityof this unbearable needto be next to you. It's a palpable thing -- this earthphilosophyand familiar in the darklike your skin under my hand. We are a small earth. It's nosimple thing. Eventuallywe will be dust together; can be used to make a house, to stopa flood or grow foodfor those who will never remember who we were, or knowthat we loved fiercely.Laughter and sadness eventually become the same song turning ustoward the nearest star --a star constructed of eternity and elements of dust barely visiblein the twilight as you traveleast. I run with the blue horses of electricity who surroundthe heartand imagine a promise made when no promise was possible.~ Joy Harjo

Getting Out Of Your Own Way

When you find yourself facing obstacles that appear to be blocking you from your goals, it is important to try not to get discouraged. It can be easy to feel "stuck" or that "life" is creating circumstances preventing you from getting what you want. And while it is easy to look at everyone and everything outside of ourselves for the problem, perhaps even wanting to "get rid" of the person, object, or circumstance we may feel is blocking us, sometimes the best course of action to take may be to look inside ourselves first.

It is amazing how often we can get in our own way without even being aware that we are doing so. Even though we truly want to succeed, there are many reasons why we may sometimes block our own efforts. It may be that we are afraid to succeed, so we subconsciously create circumstances to keep ourselves stuck. Or it may even be that we are afraid that we will succeed, so we block ourselves by making the achievement of our goals more difficult than they really are. We may even approach our goals in a way that keeps creating the same unsuccessful results.

If you believe that you've been standing in your own way, you may want to take a piece of paper and record how you've done so. Write down the choices you've made that have hindered your efforts and the fears which may have prompted you to make these decisions. Take note of any thoughts and feelings that arise. It is important to be gentle and compassionate during this process. Try not to blame yourself for getting in your own way. Remember the choices we make always are there to serve us, until it is time to let them go. When you are finished, throw the paper away while setting an intention that you are getting rid of any obstacles you've created to block yourself. You can then let yourself start again with a clean slate. Doubts and fears are going to be natural, but with this new awareness, you should be able to prevent yourself from subconsciously creating obstacles. Besides, now that you've decided to get out of your own way, the part of you that has always wanted to suc! ceed can now do so.

Supplies: An empty table or altar, a small cauldron, a
candle cup or small holder that will fit inside the
cauldron, a small handful of ice chips, one candle, a
lighter.

Preparation: Set the cauldron in the middle of the table.
If you can, make sure your body is facing either North or

around the outside of the candle cup, inside the cauldron.

Breathe deeply, then ground and center. Hold your hands
over the ice

Say:
I greet this day in love and trust
I call my Ancestors from the dust
Steadfast energies from the North
Wisdom now, come ye forth.

Light the candle and place it in the candle cup. Ground and
center. Hold your hands over the flame

Say:
I greet this day in love and trust
I honor my Ancestors, gone to dust
South brings harmony, passion and gain
In service doth the working Witch reign.

Ground and center. Put both hands around the cauldron and
meditate on connecting with Divinity. You should feel your
energy level rising now. If it helps, mix the energies of
fire and ice together by moving your hand in a clockwise
direction over the cauldron.

Say
In honor burns this candle bright
Of those gone long before
To thee, 0 __________ I call your light (I call this night)
To guide me ever more.

Aromatherapy Recipes for Colds

Many of us are suffering more often from that age-old malady, the common cold. Colds are virus-caused illnesses that affect the respiratory system, nasal passages and throat and they are not effectively treated with antibiotics. Naturopathic physicians regard the common cold as the body's attempt to cleanse impurities especially since colds no longer limit their appearance to a specific season. The source of those impurities can range from pollution to improper diet. And the effects can be magnified by something we all experience to one degree or another... stress. Unfortunately the stress levels that each of us experiences daily seems to be growing in volume.

Aromatherapist, Michele Renaud, has provided us with these essential oil recipes that will help encourage the harmony and balance of the mind, body and spirit.

If you have any questions or suffer from a serious illness, be certain to consult with your health care provider prior to using any essential oils. Here are three recipes to help relieve the stress and ease the cold.

Bath - Add the following ingredients to a hot bath:

10 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops sweet orange essential oil
Relax in the bath for at least ten minutes. Breathe in through your nose, absorbing the energy from the oils and exhale through the mouth releasing all of the impurities.

Steam Inhalation - In a pot of boiling water add:

10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops ginger essential oil
5 drops lemon essential oil
Hold your head about 18 inches from the water and breathe in through your nose, exhaling through your mouth.

Dry Inhalation - On a handkerchief place:

3 drops eucalyptus essential oil
2 drops clary sage essential oil
2 drops sweet orange essential oil
This is wonderfully refreshing if you have to be at work while your are experiencing the symptoms of a cold! Hold the handkerchief about three inches from your face. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.

Immune Boosting Recipes

Colds and flu are becoming a year round problem. Some believe these illnesses may be partially caused by stress, but most health care professionals know that they are definitely aggravated by stress. Aromatherapy can help relieve the symptoms and successfully combat the stress that underlies or aggravates the problem at the same time it enhances the immune system. Try these Immune Boosters.

Morning Immunity Bath

4 drops tea tree oil
3 drops rosemary oil
2 drops lemon oil
1 drop ginger oil
Disperse the essential oils in a tub filled with warm water and soak for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Evening Immunity Bath

4 drops tea tree oil
2 drops clary sage oil
2 drops sweet orange oil
2 drops rosewood oil
Disperse the essential oils in a tub of warm water and soak for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Immune Boosting Massage Oil

4 ounces jojoba, olive or almond oil
10 drops geranium oil
10 drops tea tree oil
8 drops lemon oil
8 drops lavender oil
4 drops eucalyptus oil
Mix well and enjoy the warmth of an immune-boosting massage.

Ease the Stress -  When You Are Feeling Stressed This Month:

The Witches' Pyramid
 By: Unknown

To Know, To Will, To Dare and To Keep Silent, make up the four principles to what is known as The Witches' Pyramid. These principals are very important to successful spell working. But what do they actually mean?

      1. To Know
Know your correspondences. Research what kind of spell you are going to perform. What the spell requires. Why you need a certain candle color or oil, or why you are using a particular herb. Different Traditions do have different correspondences for color, plants, oils etc. Learn the moon phases and timings The more you learn the more focused your energy will become. Adding to the power of your spell work.

      2. To Will
This relates to you. You must have confidence in your spell for it to work. You must believe that magick does work. You need to be focused on what you are doing totally. Your spell needs your energy to work, if you do not provide your spell with the right energy, then your spell may not work, even backfire. Just having the props, without the will, will give you unpredictable results.

      3. To Dare
Make a list, before doing the spell on exactly WHY you are doing the spell. Are there mundane ways of reaching your goal. Will the spell actually accomplish what you want. If you have mixed emotions or purpose, than this can compromise your spell working. Know exactly why you are doing the spell. Be very clear in your own mind why you believe a spell will achieve the result you require.

      4. To Keep Silent
Once you have performed your spell, you should not mention it or dwell on whether your spell has met it's objective. Let the spell, do its work. Don't waste energy worrying if a spell is going to work. That energy can be better used elsewhere. Don't talk to another about your spell either. This may weaken the strength of the spell if the other person, questions or undermines your ability or whether the spell will work.

These principals may differ from tradition to tradition, but basically what it boils down to, is having the confidence in the power within you. Believing in your magick. Follow the basic principals and your spell work will succeed every time.
